What are Webservices?

Web services allows our clients to seamlessly integrate their software and internet applications to interact with Equiniti systems. Through the use of the XML (eXtensible Markup Language) internet standard, it gives the opportunity to incorporate functionality available on Shareview within a company's own branded website.

What are the technicalities?

The concept of a Webservice is actually very simple and is akin to a ‘conversation’ in which every request will receive a response. This response will either take the form of some data that has been requested, a confirmation that an update has successfully occurred or, if the request is invalid or not recognised, a failure response.

What are the benefits?

• Design/layout/content can be largely determined by you.
• A way to improve online investor and employee communication.

• Increased e-communication - shareholders can choose to receive communication electronically helping to reduce printing and distribution costs.

• Pages will be hosted on your company website.

• Security - requests into the system are encrypted, validated and approved to ensure that the request has come from a known and trusted source.
• Equiniti provide a set of XML message formats which clients can use as the basis of a set of pages.
